Yeah yeah, not all white people are racist. We know this already. But after listening to that speech by Trump today, there isn’t a white person alive that should ever again wonder why so many black people side eye white people on the issue of racism. Sure a lot of white people are doing all the right things to combat racism (I guess). Truth be told, I haven’t the slightest clue what any of that shit is besides posting to social media everyday to proclaim to the world that you are a white ally. But if it makes white people feel better for not being associated with open & closeted white supremacists & their supporters…then fine, have it at. Not sure how it’s working, but…cool beans.
In the meanwhile, I know a lot of white people will take to the social media streets in an effort to denounce any & everything about Trump in addition to any & everything about racism & white supremacy, but let’s keep it real, Trump isn’t helping white people’s image on the issue of racism at all. He really isn’t. He isn’t causing black people to want to sit down and honestly figure out who is who when it comes to white people & their stance on racism. He really isn’t ladies & gentlemen. If anything, Trump is just causing more & more black people to keep the side eye on damn near every white person we come into contact with. As much as some of us may want to ease up on the side eyeing, as long as Trump is in office, we can’t. It’s just too risky to relinquish the side eye at this point in the game. The side eye is so strong on some of us that it’s causing blurry vision to the point where all white people are beginning to look alike these days, kind of like how all black people look alike to white people. It is what it is at this point. If white people truly want toxic race relations to cease, then you all need to embrace the forced work ethic of the American slave to get this evil up out of the White House with the quickness. If not, then don’t ever again wonder why black people look at your every move & evaluate your every word that comes out your mouth with a slight hint of distrust.
